13.4Changing the main fuse
Warning
Fire hazardThe electrical system can be overloaded if the wrong fuses are used.
Use only fuses with the prescribed amperage. Never by-pass or repair fuses.

The main fuse protects all power consumers in the vehicle. It is located in the starter relay housing under the filter box cover.
Preliminary work
Switch off all power consumers and switch off the engine.
Remove the air filter box lid. ( p. 41)

Main work
Remove screw 1.

Lift rear fairing 2 slightly and pull starter relay 3 out of the bracket.

Remove protection caps 4.
Remove the faulty main fuse 5.
Info
A defective fuse is indicated by a burned-out fuse wire A.
A reserve fuse 6 is located in the starter relay.
Install a new main fuse.
Fuse (58011109110) ( p. 89)
Check that the electrical equipment is functioning.
Tip
Insert the spare fuse so that it is available if needed.
Mount the protection caps.
Mount the starter relay onto the bracket and lay the cable.
Position the rear fairing. Mount and tighten the screw.
Guideline
Remaining screws, chassis M6 10 Nm (7.4 lbf ft)
Follow-up work
Install the air filter box lid. ( p. 41)
