Puttingyourcomputerintosleepstateorshuttingitdown

Whenyounishworkingwithyourcomputer,youcanputitintosleepstateor

shutitdown.

Puttingyourcomputerintosleepstate

Ifyouwillbeawayfromyourcomputerforonlyashorttime,putthecomputer

intosleepstate.Whenthecomputerisinsleepstate,youcanquicklywakeitto

resumeuse,andbypassthestartupprocess.

Toputthecomputerintosleepstate,doeitherofthefollowing:

•Click

andselectSleepfromtheStartmenu.

•PressFn+F1.

Note:Waituntilthepowerindicatorlightstartsblinking(indicatingthatthe

computerisinsleepstate)beforeyoumoveyourcomputer.Movingyour

computerwhiletheharddiskisspinningcandamagetheharddisk,causing

lossofdata.

Towakethecomputer,doeitherofthefollowing:

•Pressthepowerbutton.

•Pressanykeyonthekeyboard.

Shuttingdownyourcomputer

Ifyouarenotgoingtouseyourcomputerforadayortwo,shutitdown.

Toshutdownyourcomputer,clickandselectShutdownfromtheStartmenu.
