2.IfaDiskEncryptionharddiskdriveandEncryptionsolidstatedriveisinstalledinyourcomputer,
besuretoprotectthecontentsofyourcomputermemoryfromunauthorizedaccessbyuseofdrive
encryptionsoftware.
3.Beforeyoudisposeof,sell,orhandoveryourcomputer,besuretodeletedatastoredonit.Referto

helpstoprotectyourcomputeragainstsecurityattacksonmedia,NANDashordevicecontrollersbyuse
ofahardwareencryptionchip.Fortheefcientuseoftheencryptionfeature,besuretosetaHarddisk
passwordsfortheinternalstoragedevice.

Therearemethodsthatseemtodeletethedata:
Movethedatatotherecyclebin,andthenchoosetheEmptyrecyclebincommand.
UsetheDeletecommand.
Formatyourharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrive,usingthesoftwareforinitializingit.
Usingtherecoveryprogram,providedbyLenovo,bringtheharddiskdriveorthesolidstatedrivebackto
thefactorydefaultsettings.
Theseoperations,however,onlychangetheleallocationofthedata;theydonotdeletethedataitself.In
otherwords,thedataretrievalprocessingisdisabledunderanoperatingsystemsuchasWindows.The
dataisstillthere,eventhoughitseemstobelost.Thus,itissometimespossibletoreadthedatabyuseof
specialsoftwarefordatarecovery.Thereisariskthatpeopleofbadfaithmightreadandmisusethecritical
dataonharddiskdrivesorsolidstatedrivesforunexpectedpurposes.
Topreventleakageofdata,itbecomesveryimportantthatyoutakeresponsibilityfordeletingallthedata
fromtheharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrivewhenyoudisposeof,sell,orhandoveryourcomputer.Youcan
