Early Warning "Area
Mail"
Area Mail is a service which enables you to
receive earthquake early warnings and tsunami
warnings sent from the Japan Meteorological
Agency, and disaster/evacuation information
sent from national and local governments,
unaected by network congestion.
• Area Mail is a free service that does not
require application.
• You can save up to 50 Area Mails. If the
number of Area Mails saved on the handset
memory exceeds the maximum number to be
saved, they are deleted from the oldest one.
• In the following cases, you cannot receive
Area Mail.
- While the power is OFF
- During international roaming
- In Airplane mode
- During software update
- While displaying the PIN code entry screen
- When using a SIM card of other than by
DOCOMO
- During voice calls (except for voice calls
with VoLTE)
• You may not be able to receive Area Mail
when available memory is insucient,
or during tethering settings/packet
communication.
• Unreceived Area Mail cannot be received
later. Area Mail (tsunami warnings and
disaster/evacuation information) is sent
again, so there is a chance again to receive it
if you were not able to receive it earlier.
Receiving Early Warning

When the Area Mail is received, the detailed
screen appears with the special buzzer or
special ringtone sounds and vibrations.
• The Area Mail buzzer or ringtone sounds
cannot be changed.
