8.2. The tree structure of the transmitter

The /MEDIA node is used by the LDC to connect input ports to output ports on different

layers. Each subnode of /MEDIA is representing a layer, e.g. video (/MEDIA/VIDEO), audio

(/MEDIA/AUDIO) or RS-232 (/MEDIA/UART). Each layer has a crosspoint to dene

connections between the ports associated with the layer, all of them are represented by a

specic node. E.g. the video layer node is /MEDIA/VIDEO: under the video layer node, the

video crosspoint node (XP) and the video ports (I1, I2, …) are located.

The tree structure is available in the Advanced view of LDC, see section 6.10 on page

48.

8.3. LW3 commands

8.3.1. Get command

The ‘GET’ command can be used to get the child nodes, properties and methods of a

specic node. It can also be used to get the value of a property.

The response format

The rst two characters of a response unambiguously identify the type of the element that

the response line concerns. The rst character is the type of the element (node, property or

method), the second is for miscellaneous information (e.g. read/write rights).

The dened prexes are:

‘n-’: node

‘pr’: property - only readable

‘pw’: property - writable, readable

‘m-’: method executable

After the prex, the response contains the full path of the node, property or method after a

space character.

Get all children of a node

Get all of the child nodes of a parent node, with one GET command.

Command format: GET●[nodePath]

Response format: n-●[nodePath]

Why is there no picture on the Lightware Extender video output (receiver)?

  If there's no picture on the video output, several factors could be at play. First, ensure all devices, including the extenders, are properly powered by checking and reconnecting them. Verify that all cable connections, including video and optical cables, are secure. Confirm that the correct port is selected in the Crosspoint settings. Check if the laser is disabled in the LINKOUT properties and ensure Autoselect settings are correct if enabled. Also, verify that the output is not muted and that the display can receive the video format by checking the emulated EDID. Finally, ensure HDCP is enabled on the input port if it was disabled.

  If you can't establish a LAN connection, it might be due to an incorrect IP address. Try using a dynamic IP address by enabling the DHCP option. If that doesn't work, restore the factory default settings (with fix IP). Also, check for IP address conflicts with other devices on the network.

Why is not the desired picture displayed on the Lightware SW4-OPT-TX240RAK video output?

  If the video output shows an undesired picture, it could be because the video output is statically set to a test pattern (no sync screen). Check the 'No sync screen' settings in the LINKOUT properties. Alternatively, if there's no picture on the video source, the video output might be set to a test pattern. In this case, check the video settings of the source.

Why does HDMI output signal contain no audio when using Lightware Extender?

  If your HDMI output signal contains no audio, it might be because the HDMI mode was set to DVI. Check the properties of the output port and set it to HDMI or Auto. It could also be that a DVI EDID is emulated. In that case, check the EDID and select an HDMI EDID to emulate.
