If boom is off ground and supported by boom
rigging, and there is no blocking under boom
sections, boom will collapse when lower pins
are removed.
If boom rigging is slack, boom point is on
ground or blocking, and there is no blocking
under boom sections, boom will collapse when
lower pins are removed.
Lower pins can be removed safely when:
equalizer is pinned to boom butt with boom hoist
wire rope taut and supporting boom
boom pendants are fully lowered onto boom
sections
boom sections are lowered and securely blocked.
