Towing
Raising by the front axle
왘 Lift the front axle with lifting forks 1. Ensure that
the steering linkage, springs, stabilizer bars, hos

왘 Secure the front axle to the lifting device with
chains

Air-sprung vehicles
Do not raise the vehicle by the front crossmember.
왘 Fit the support fixture so that it cannot slip out of
place.
왘 Attach the support fixture so that lines, cables,
hoses and other detachable parts are not dam

왘 Tie the axle up to the frame using a chain or
strap

Lateral forces arising when a laden vehicle is raised
can lead to distortion at the cargo area.
왘 Set rear axle to driving level, see page 88.
왘 Secure the vehicle to the lifting device with
chains or straps to prevent it from slipping for

ward or backward.
Leaf-sprung vehicle
