Notes on adjusting the lights when driving abroad
Vehicles with static LED headlamps: it is no
t nec-
essary to convert the headlamps. The legal
requirements are also met in countries in which
trac drives on the other side of the road.
Vehicles with Intelligent Light System: before
crossing the border into countries in which trac
drives on the other side of the road, it is neces-
sary to set the headlamps to symmetrical dipped
beam (/ page 117).
Once the headlamps have been converted:

Oncoming trac will not be dazzled.
R
The edge of the road will not be illuminated as
far or as high.
R
The "motorway mode" and "enhanced fog
light" functions will not be available.
The headlamps must be reset to asymmetrical low
beam when you return from abroad.

The various lighting systems of the vehicle are
onl
y aids. The driver of the vehicle is responsible
for correct vehicle illumination in accordance with
the prevailing light and visibility conditions, legal
requirements and trac situation.
