5-12 Switches and controls
3. Allow the engine to idle for more than 3 minutes
before stopping it.
When the vehicle is in motion, engine parts
become extremely hot. This is particularly true
during uphill or high-speed driving. Therefore,
let the engine cool down sufficiently by allowing
it to idle for a time before stopping it.
4. Turn the starter switch to the “ACC” position to
stop the engine.
Accelerator pedal
Racing the engine also increases fuel consumption.
Pedals
WARNING
If you use a floor mat, lay it correctly and
make sure it is suitable for the size of the
vehicle. It is dangerous for a floor mat to
cover the accelerator pedal or for floor mats
to be laid in multiple layers since the acceler-
ator pedal may be prevented from returning
when released.
