  Your Nikon Digital Camera might be turning off without warning due to several reasons. The battery may be exhausted, requiring you to replace or recharge it. The camera might be turning off automatically to save power, which requires no action. If the Charging AC Adapter is connected while the camera is on it will turn off, so disconnect it. Also, the camera turns off if the USB cable connecting it to a computer or printer is disconnected, so reconnect the USB cable. In low temperatures, the camera and battery may not work properly, so warm them before use. Finally, if the inside of the camera has become hot, leave it off until it cools down.

  If your Nikon Digital Camera cannot be turned on, it could be due to an exhausted battery. Try replacing or recharging the battery. Also, the camera cannot be turned on while connected to an electrical outlet via the Charging AC Adapter, so disconnect the Charging AC Adapter.

  If the battery inserted in your Nikon Digital Camera cannot be charged, confirm all connections. Ensure that "Off" is not selected for Charge by computer in the setup menu. When charging by connecting the camera to a computer, battery charging stops when the camera is turned off or when the computer is suspended (sleeping), and the camera may turn off. Depending upon computer specifications, settings, and status, charging the battery inserted in the camera may not be possible via computer connection.
