8. Maintenance
If the document glass surface and document holding pad are very dirty, wipe gently with a soft cloth that has been
moistened with neutral detergent and squeezed well, and then wipe again with a soft cloth that has been slightly
moistened with water and squeezed well.

Close the document glass cover.
Do not close the document cover vigorously.It may cause the document feed roller of ADF to fall and get in the
way of loading documents.
If the document feed roller of ADF has fallen, open and close the ADF cover.
Clean the LED head if vertical white lines appear, images are faded, or the periphery of
letters are smudged in the printouts.
• Do not use solvents, such as methyl alcohol or thinners, because they may damage the LED head.
• Do not expose the image drum to direct sunlight or strong light (approximately 1,500 lux or more). Even under room
lighting, do not leave the image drum for 5 minutes or more.

Hold the handle (B) and open the scanner unit (a) completely.
