is appropriate for the specific product, and 1F4h and 1F5h
must contain the exact values shown. These values function as
a key. The drive issues the message ILLEGAL COMMAND if
the bytes are not entered correctly.
Pending defects will be excluded from the list, since no alternate sector is being used
as their replacement, and since they may be removed from the drive’s internal
pending list at a later time. Table 6-28 shows the overall format of the defect list,
and Table 6-29 shows the format of the individual defect entries.
