This
interrupt
occurs
when
a
high-order
carry
occurs
or
high-order
significant
bits
are
lost
in
fixed-point addition,
subtraction,
shifting,
or
sign
control
operations.
The
operation
is
completed
by
ignoring
the
overflow
data.
If
the
interrupt
is
inhibited
by
the
program
mask,
the
interrupt
condition
is
cancelled.
If
the
interrupt
is
permitted
by
the
program
mask,
but
inhibited
by
the
interrupt
mask,
the
interrupt
remains
pending.

This
interrupt
provides
program
control
over
the
processor
during
program
testing.
The
program
test
interrupt
flag
is
set
by
the
Program
Control
instruction.
When
the
interrupt
flag
bit
and
the
related
interrupt
mask
bit
in
the
state
to
be
initiated
are
both
set,
an
interrupt
occurs
after
the
first
instruction
that
is
executed
in
the
initiated
processor
state.
