Circuit Protection Configurations
The following diagrams illustrate the AC and DC circuit protection configurations for the products that are listed in the previous table.
Terms used in the diagrams:
CB - Circuit Breaker. For branch circuit overload and overcurrent protection as well as disconnection of AC power. See PowerFlex 750-Series
Products with TotalFORCE Control Technical Data, publication 750-TD100
, fuse and circuit breaker data tables for fuse specifications.
ST - Shunt Trip. Part of CB, applying power trips the circuit breaker
N - AC Contactor. Three pole AC contactor for disconnecting AC power.
DS - Disconnect Switch. For user disconnection of AC or DC power.
FU - AC Fuse. Dual element time delay or non-time delay fuse. Optional for branch circuit overload and overcurrent protection. See PowerFlex 750-

SPF - Semiconductor Protection Fast Acting Fuse. Required for protection of power electronics. These fuses are typically located within the
PowerFlex product. The exception is PowerFlex 755TL/TR Frames 5…6 AC drives and PowerFlex 755TM Frame 6 Regenerative Bus Supply.
P/C - Pre-charger. Resistive or SCR phase-controlled circuits for precharging DC bus capacitors.
C - DC Bus Capacitors.
