Defrost
There is a risk of the heat exchanger in the outdoor module (RRHQ) freezing if the outside temperature is low during room heating
operation or heating for the hot water supply. If this danger occurs, the system starts defrost operation . It briefly
reverses the circulation and takes heat from the Indoor module (RKHB) to prevent the Outdoor module (RRHQ) freezing. After
defrost operation of a maximum of 8 minutes, the system automatically switches back the normal operation.
6.2.1 Switching the system on and off
• Press the key.
 The operation LED lights up green.
 During start-up, the icon is shown in the display of the user interface.
After start-up, the current operating mode is shown in the display of the user interface.
When heating operation is started, the pump is not started until a certain temperature is reached in the refrigerant heat exchanger.
This guarantees correct start-up of the heat pump.
When you press the key again, the system is shut down and the Operation LED goes out.
6.2.2 Setting the control clock
Setting the time
• Press key for at least 5 s.
 The time and display of the weekday starts flashing.
• Use the keys
and to set the time.
 The time is increased/decreased by 1 min.
Holding the key
or pressed increases/reduces the time by 10 min.
• Press the key to save or press the key again to cancel the setting.
Setting the weekday
• Press key for at least 5 s.
 The time and display of the weekday starts flashing.
• Use the keys
and to set the weekday.
 The weekday is increased/decreased by 1 min.
• Press the key to save or press the key again to cancel the setting.
6.2.3 Display of the current Temperature
• Press the key for 5 s.
 The icon and the initial water temperature on the Indoor module (RKHB) are shown.
 The icons and flash in the display of the user interface.
• Use the keys
and to select the following temperatures:
– External temperature
 Icon flashes.
– Process water tank temperature
 Icon flashes.
– Initial water temperature on the Indoor module (RKHB)
 Icon flashes.
If no button is pressed within 5 s, the control leaves display mode.
If a room thermostat or wireless room thermostat is connected to the ROTEX HeatPumpSolarUnit, the icon
is shown and the key is not ready for operation.
In this case, the external room thermostat or wireless room thermostat switches on and off.
