3.7Setting the Detector Temperature
The detector temperature of FPD is controlled by the base unit only. The temperature control of FPD uses
[DET1] or [DET2].

CAUTION
Raising the detector temperature to 350°C, may shorten the service life of the
filter. When the FPD is not in use, keep the detector temperature low.
CAUTION
In order to protect the filter, the FPD-2010 is so constructed that it is cooled
by the fan provided with the filter. This fan keeps operating as far as the
power is supplied to the GC-2010 main unit. Consequently, in order not to
make the service life of the filer shorter, do not turn OFF the power of the GC-
2010 main unit when the column oven and detector temperature is high. After
the temperature has been sufficiently cooled down (less than 50
°C), turn OFF
the power of the GC-2010 main unit.
