6.2Error messages
This section describes error messages specific to FPD. For the error messages regarding Gas
Chromatograph, refer to
19.2 Error Messages in the GC-2010 Instruction manual.
DET#n FPD battery error
This indicates deterioration of voltage of the cooling fan backup battery. When this error occurs,
temperature control of the FPD is stopped to protect the filter from unexpected service interruption.
Replace the battery with a new one according to 5.6 Replacing the Battery”.
If the error message appears even after battery replacement, check the following matters:
If the battery is placed in correct direction.
If the battery is making contact with the electrodes of the box.
If the connection between the battery box and the connector is not disconnected.
If no problem is found with the above, hardware failure may be occurring. You cannot use the FPD unless
repaired. Turn OFF the power and contact your local Shimadzu techincal office
DET#n FPD temperature error
This indicates that the temperature of the filter unit radiator is abnormally high.
Check around the cooling fan to see that the cooling fan is operating correctly and flow of the cooling air is
not blocked.
If no problem is found, hardware failure may be occurring. You cannot use the FPD unless repaired. Turn
OFF the power and contact your local Shimadzu techincal office
DET#n FPD cooling fan error
This error message appears when the cooling fan is not mounted or the cable is not connected correctly. If
no anomaly is found with the connection, hardware failure may be occurring. You cannot use the FPD
unless repaired. Turn OFF the power and contact your local Shimadzu techincal office.
DET#n FPD electric current error.
This indicates that the current running to photomultiplier is abnormal. Check the connected portion to see if
strong light is not entering into the photomultiplier.
When the FPD does not return to normal operation even by shutting off outside light by covering it with
dark cloth and the like, hardware failure may be occurring. You cannot use the FPD unless repaired. Turn
OFF the power and contact your local Shimadzu techincal office.
