How to carry out inspections

The conveying and scanning functions can be modified by means of accessories* such as contact
mat*, attendance detector*, safety switches* at the conveyor ends and/or the tunnel entrances and
exits conveyor end or oversize detectors*) as well as by means of special functions* such as Full-re-
verse mode*, Reverse scanning*, Continuous scanning* and Second conveyor control*. The same
applies if the unit is integrated into a baggage handling system or line. Observe the appropriate in-
structions in the following paragraphs (F 1-52).

Warning!
Switch off the X-ray unit by means of the key switch and withdraw the key before you manually clear
baggage or freight items that have got stuck or before you correct other malfunctions in the inspec-
tion tunnel or on the conveyors! If the unit does not have a key switch, wait until all indicators on the
keyboard have extinguished and separate the unit from the mains by pulling the mains plug! 790
How to place baggage and freight items

Attention!
When switching on the unit, first clear the inspection tunnel (F 1-37) before you place objects on the
conveyors! 795
The baggage or freight items must always be placed in
front of the lead curtain!
Larger baggage or freight items must only be placed
on the conveyors when they are stopped.
Place baggage or freight items to be inspected in the
middle of the input roller table* or the conveyor input.

Attention!
Keep away open containers with liquids or any other non-solid materials as well as dirty or wet ob-
jects from all parts of the X-ray unit and from the feed and discharge conveyors! Closed containers
with liquids or non-solid materials as well as dirty or rain-wet baggage or freight items may only be
scanned after having been put into appropriate plastic containers (see below)! 810
