THERMOSTAT
REMOVAL
• Disconnect water hose 1 from thermostat cover.
• Remove the four (4) bolts
2 securing the thermostat cover,
then remove the cover
3 and thermostat 4.
INSPECTION
• If salt deposits, corrosion, wear or other damage is found,
clean or replace.
• Thermostat operation
Check thermostat opening temperature as follows:
• Insert a length of thread between thermostat valve / body
and suspend thermostat in a container filled with water.
• Place thermometer in container and heat water.
Observe water temperature when thermostat valve opens
and releases thread.

INSTALLATION
Installation is reverse order of removal with special attention to
the following steps.
• Assemble thermostat
1, gasket 2 and thermostat cover 3 to
cylinder head block and secure with bolts.
