4.2.2 WAN connections
The Regesta Smart PRO features a single Ethernet COMBO Gigabit interface designed for WAN connections. This
interface includes two connectors: an SFP connector for optical links and an RJ-45 for 10/100/1000 Base-T links. It is
important to note that these connectors cannot be used simultaneously. Additionally, the interface operates inde-
pendently from the switch, if present, and can be managed like any other interface.
Be sure to carefully observe the labeling to avoid confusion with other ports:

4.2.2.1 Laser information
Please ensure that the SFP transceivers you choose adhere to the following regu-
lations:
• Class 1
• IEC/EN60825-1:2007 2nd Edition or any later European standard
• FCC 21 CFR Chapter 1, Subchapter J (in accordance with FDA and CDRH re-
quirements)
• 2014/30/EU EMC Directive and the 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive for the
application of CE marking
• UL and/or CSA registered components for use in North America
• 47 CFR Part 15, Class A
Warning
Laser Radiation. Do not use optical instruments directly or without proper protection. CLASS 1 LASER
PRODUCT.
The SFP modules that will be installed in the card socket must be class 1 devices and should comply
with the IEC/EN 60825-1:2007 standard.
4.2.3 4-port Ethernet switch connections
Certain models of the Regesta Smart PRO router are equipped with a 4-port 10/100/1000 Base-T switch that allows
for automatic MDI/MDIX connection to a local area network (LAN).
