1.Disengagethepowertakeoff(PTO),settheparking
brake,turntheignitionkeytooff,andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engine.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithamild
detergentandwater.Donotpressurewashthe
machine.Avoidexcessiveuseofwater,especially
nearthedrivesystemandengine.Pressure
washingcanforcedirtandwaterintocriticalparts,
suchasspindlebearingsandelectricalswitches.
3.Checkthebrake;refertoServicingtheBrake(page45).
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page34).
5.Greasethemachine;refertoLubrication(page32).
6.Changetheengineoil;refertoChangingtheEngine
Oil(page36).
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
Pressure(page43).
8.Forlong-termstorage:
A.Addstabilizer/conditioneradditivetofuelinthe
tank.
B.Runenginetodistributeconditionedfuelthrough
thefuelsystem(5minutes).
C.Stopengine,allowtocoolanddrainthefueltank;
refertoDrainingtheFuelTank(page38),or
operateengineuntilitstops.
D.Restartengineandrununtilitstops.Repeat,on
Chokeuntilenginewillnotrestart.
E.Disposeoffuelproperly.Recycleasperlocal
codes.
Note:Donotstoregasolinewith
stabilizer/conditionerover90days.
9.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckitscondition;refer
toServicingtheSparkPlug(page37).Withthespark
plug(s)removedfromtheengine,pourtwotablespoons
ofengineoilintothesparkplughole.Nowusethe
startertocranktheengineanddistributetheoilinside
thecylinder.Installthesparkplug(s).Donotinstallthe
wireonthesparkplug(s).
10.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repairor
replaceanypartthatisdamagedordefective.
11.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paintis
availablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
12.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageorstoragearea.
Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchandkeepit
inamemorableplace.Coverthemachinetoprotect
itandkeepitclean.
