ENGINE DOES NOT CRANK NORMALLY
When the ignition key switch is turned
ON,
the starter motor does not respond, or makes an abnormal noise.

To test whether the fault is with the circuit to the starter motor, or
with the starter motor itself, connect the starter motor directly to the
battery with the

terminal and

terminal leads. If the starter
motor turns, then the fault is in the circuit. If it does not turn, then
the fault is in the motor.
