4.20.1 Removing and installing air filter ele‐
ment, 1.2 l and 1.4 l TSI engines
Removing
– Pull air hose -2- off upper part of air filter -1-.
– Release hose clips -3- and -4-.
– Pull air filter housing -1- off ball head pins upwards.
– Pull air hoses/ducts off air filter housing -1-.
– Remove air filter element -1- and place down turned through
180°.
– Unscrew bolts -1- on underside of air filter housing.
– Carefully release retaining tabs -arrows- on upper part of air
filter housing one after the other (risk of breaking).
– Remove upper part of air filter housing and remove air filter
element.
Installing
– Check air filter housing, air mass meter and water drains for
soiling and clean them if necessary ⇒ page 57 .
