MODIFICATIONS TO VEHICLE
Chassis Frame
WARNING
DO NOT weld on any part of the frame or
drill holes in the top or bottom flanges.
Serious structural damage could occur.
Frame side rails are heat treated. No welding is permitted because this can result in structural
failure. DO NOT drill through either top or bottom flanges. A warning label is also attached
to the frame for information.

Drilling is permitted in the frame web in accordance with a specified hole spacing pattern.
Consult an authorized Volvo Truck dealer to obtain approved hole spacing dimensions or
refer to the Frame Rail and Cross Member Service Manual.
