SAFETY BELT SYSTEM
The safety belt system is the main restraint application in the vehicle. All vehicles are
equipped with this system. For additional information on the safety belt system refer
to “SAFETY BELTS” page 259.
The safety belt system monitors the safety belt latch and vehicle speed. When the vehicle
is started the safety belt telltale displays in the cluster. The icon remains on whenever the
vehicle is stationary and the safety belt is unbuckled. Whenever the vehicle is moving and
the safety belt is unbuckled an audible tone sounds and the safety belt telltale blinks.
