USB:
An acronym for Universal Serial Bus. It is a data communication method used between a
computer and its peripherals. It allows hot-plug, which is the capability of connecting or
disconnecting peripherals without having to switch off the computer.
Web browser:
Software that is designed to view information from the Internet on computers. Mozilla
Firefox and Internet Explorer are the two most popular web browsers.
WINS:
An acronym for Windows Internet Name Services. It is a name resolution service that
converts a computer name to an IP address in a TCP/IP environment.
WWW:
An acronym for World Wide Web. It is a system that provides web sites on the Internet.
XPS file:
XML Paper Specification file. XPS is a format developed by Microsoft. XML files can be
created with Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 applications.
