Toner Missing or Easy to Rub Off
Toner appears to be missing from the
print or is easy to rub off.
1. Verify that the paper you are using is the correct type for the printer
and is loaded properly. For details, see Supported Paper Types and
Weights on page 39.
2. At the control panel, select a heavier paper. For details, see
Supported Paper Types and Weights on page 39.
3. Adjust the fuser. For details, see Adjusting the Fuser on page 84.
4. If condensation is forming inside the printer, enable Dew Prevention.
For details, see Enabling Dew Prevention on page 85.
Blotchy or mottled images.
1. Compensate for the paper thickness. For details, see Adjusting Paper
Type on page 83.
2. Adjust the bias voltage offset for the affected paper type. For details,
see Adjusting the Voltage Offset on page 84.
3. Adjust the fuser. For details, see Adjusting the Fuser on page 84.
4. Adjust the altitude setting of the printer. For details, see Adjusting
the Altitude on page 84.
