Adjusting the brake pedal
position and free play

The brake pedal position should be ad-
justed before adjusting the brake pedal
free play.

Brake pedal position
The brake pedal should be positioned
approximately 85 mm [XVS650] or
108 mm [XVS650A] above the top of
the footrest as shown. Periodically
check the brake pedal position and, if
necessary, adjust it as follows.
1. Loosen the locknut at the brake
pedal.
2. To raise the brake pedal, turn the
adjusting bolt in direction

3. Tighten the locknut.
