1) Place the throttle control grip in the
fully closed position (for Tiller control
model).
2) Check that the tilt-lock lever (for Man-
ual tilt/Hydro-tilt model) is in the
locked position.

REVERSE

When operating in Reverse, go slowly. Do
not open the throttle more than half. Oth-
erwise, the boat may become unstable,
which could result in loss of control and
an accident.
Tiller control model
3) Turn the gear-shift lever quickly and
firmly from Neutral to Reverse.
Remote control model
3) Pull up the neutral interlock trigger if
equipped and move the remote con-
trol lever quickly and firmly from Neu-
tral to Reverse.
