TILT LOCK MECHANISM (for Hydro-
tilt model)
Tilt-lock mechanism is used to prevent
reverse thrust from the propeller lifting
the outboard motor when reversing. To
lock it, set the tilt-lock lever in the Lock
position. To release it, place the tilt-lock
lever in the Tilt position.
1 Tilt-lock lever
NOTE:
The tilt-lock mechanism on the hydro-tilt
model can be used to keep the outboard
motor at a slightly tilted angle for shallow
water cruising. Refer to CRUISING IN
SHALLOW WATER for the correct opera-
tion.

To keep the outboard motor in the tilted-
up position, lock the tilt support lever to
the clamp bracket.
