Outboard Rigging Guide - 2001 Tachometer
TACHOMETER
A properly operating tachometer is essential for
suitable outboard performance. Engine RPM can
be monitored for most efficient operation and
excessively high engine speed can be avoided. In
dual-engine applications, the tachometers can be
used to set the throttle of each engine accurately.
Yamaha has three types of tachometers; two Pro
Series, one with oil lights, and one for the F40,
F50, T50, F80, F100, F115 4-stroke; and a multi-
function digital tachometer. For 40~250 all 2-
stroke and 4-stroke models.
The multi-function gauge combines Yamaha high
quality and advanced technology in this state-of-
the-art digital combination meter. Its large, two
digit, liquid crystal display provides quick, easy
monitoring day or night. Included in this gauge is
an easy-to-read trim indicator, which blacks out if
the engine is over trimmed, and prominently dis-
played oil warnings.
NOTE: The multi-function digital gauge will not
properly work on the 6 ~ 30HP engines. The
tachometer will not function properly and the oil
lights and trim gauge will not work.
