3 Product overview
3.1 Application
With this add-on module an ECblue, Icontrol Basic or Fcontrol Basic can be coupled to an existing
CAN-OPEN system.
3.2 Function
ECblue fans with integrated auxiliary module AM-CAN-OPEN offer the following functions:

With the “AM-CAN-OPEN” module communication is possible with the fan controller via a CAN-
OPEN network.
•
For programming of desired functions during start-up or for diagnostics.
•
The module can remain in the ECblue fan or be inserted only for the period of the programming.
3.3 Transport
•
The device is packed ex factory to suit the transport method previously agreed.
•
Always use the original packaging materials when transporting the device.
•
Avoid shocks and impacts to the device during the transport.
•
During manual handling the human lifting and carrying restrictions must be observed and adhered
to.
3.4 Storage
•
The device must be stored in its original packaging in a dry and weather-proof room.
•
Avoid exposure to extreme heat and cold.
•
Avoid over-long storage periods (we recommend a maximum of one year).
3.5 Disposal / recycling
Disposal must be carried out professionally and in an environmentally friendly way in accordance with
the respective national legal stipulations.

" If necessary, commission a specialist company with the waste disposal.
4 Mounting
•
Before installation remove the device from the packing and check for any possible shipping
damage!
•
For installation the cover of the controller housing must be removed. The module is then put into
the intended slot of the ECblue fan. (

•
Then mount the module in the controller housing with the two enclosed screws (permissible
tightening torque M

= 1.3 Nm).
•
To mount in the frequency inverter, remove the complete housing lid and insert the module in the
slot provided (
Assembly Instructions / Operating Instructions of the Frequency Inverter /
Electrical Installation). There are two clips at the slot so that the add-on module does not have to be
screwed on.

Permissible tightening torque of connection terminals M

= 0.24 Nm.
Danger due to electric current
Voltage supply for motor must be interrupted and secured against restoration!
