7. The second Linking Device will take over the configuration data from the primary
device and will start operation in the role “Secondary”. For indication of proper
operation as a secondary device, refer to Status Indicators - LEDs on page 37.
8. Configure the Linking Device redundancy with the configuration tool (Fieldbus Builder
FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus) and - if an OPC Server FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus is
used - download the OPC server.
2.9 Replacing a LD 800 HSE Ex by a New LD 810HSE Ex
Do not combine different module types in redundant pairs, i.e. do not combine a
Linking Device of type LD 810HSE Ex with other types such as LD 800HSE or
LD 800HSE Ex. If one of the redundant LD 800HSE pair fails and in order not to affect
the running plant, replace the defective LD 800HSE Ex with a new LD 800HSE Ex
as mentioned in Replacing a Defective Linking Device in a Redundant Set of Linking
Devices on page 46.
When replacing a set of redundant LD 800HSE Ex with a set of redundant
LD 810HSE Ex, both Linking Devices of a set need to be removed and replaced. This
will affect the corresponding FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus devices and can affect the
running plant.
When a non-redundant LD 800HSE Ex needs to be replaced with a LD 810HSE Ex,
please follow the replacement steps as given below.
1. Before connecting the new LD 810HSE Ex, assign the new LD 810HSE Ex the same
IP address and subnet mask as the replaced LD 800HSE Ex, for details see Network
Configuration on page 62.
2. Remove the power terminal block from the old LD 800HSE Ex.
3. Remove the redundancy link wiring and the Ethernet cable from the old
LD 800HSE Ex.
4. If not indicated on the cable, make a note to which channel each H1 link is connected.
Then remove the H1 terminal blocks.
5. Replace the old LD 800HSE Ex by the new LD 810HSE Ex that has been assigned
the same IP address and subnet mask as the replaced LD 800HSE Ex.
6. Plug in the H1 terminal blocks to the new LD 810HSE Ex. It is recommended to
connect the H1 segments to the new LD 810HSE Ex at the same positions as on
the replaced LD 800HSE Ex.
