10.6 Package and return your insulin pump
Your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump may be returned to your Accu-Chek
customer service center for insulin pumps when approved. Pack your insulin pump so
that it can travel safely. Put your insulin pump back into the shipping case and put
the case into a package that will not rip or tear.
It is best to send your insulin pump with a carrier that tracks the shipment.
Some examples of tracked shipments are:
• Federal Express 2-day economy
• UPS group track
• Registered mail
• Express mail
• Certified mail
• To operate your insulin pump, the temperature of the PowerPack must
be +5°C to +40°C (+41°F to +104°F).
• Change the PowerPack only in a dry environment.
• To tighten or loosen the PowerPack use only the battery tool supplied
with your Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin pump (never use coins, screw-
drivers and the like). The PowerPack is correctly inserted and tightened
when the slot is parallel to the cartridge compartment (bayonet lock).
Do not over-tighten. Over-tightening may cause damage to the battery
cover and the pump casing.
• Do not use a PowerPack that has been dropped.
• Use only original PowerPacks for the Accu-Chek D-TRONplus insulin
pump. Using PowerPacks other than those supplied or recommended
may significantly reduce the service life of the PowerPack and may lead
to leakage and corrosion of the PowerPack contacts within your insulin
pump. The use of PowerPacks not supplied or recommended may void
the warranty.
The service life of the PowerPack is affected by usage of your insulin pump, delivery
rates, temperature and other factors. A PowerPack should last approximately 6–8
weeks.
