Repairing the ALS
Thermostat Module
Simple Repairs
The ALS thermostat is designed for easy repair.
Exchanging Internal Parts
Some repairs may require exchange of defective internal parts. Exchange of
these parts requires removing the ALS thermostat from the stack, removing
the covers, and disassembling the ALS thermostat. The security lever at the
power input socket prevents that the Thermostat cover is taken off when line
power is still connected.
WARNING To prevent personal injury, the power cable must be removed from the
ALS thermostat before opening the Thermostat cover. Do not connect
the power cable to the ALS thermostat while the covers are removed.
CAUTION Electronic boards and components are sensitive to electrostatic discharge
(ESD). In order to prevent damage always use an ESD protection (for
example, the ESD wrist strap from the accessory kit) when handling
electronic boards and components.
WARNING Do not disconnect or reconnect the autosampler to ALS thermostat
cable when the power cords are connected to either of the two
modules. This will damage the electronics of the modules.
