PowerFlex 70 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive
Running S.M.A.R.T. Start
During a startup, most applications require changes to a few parameters. The
LCD HIM on a PowerFlex 70 drive offers S.M.A.R.T. start, and displays the
most commonly changed parameters. With these parameters you can set the
following functions:
• S – Start Mode and Stop Mode
• M – Minimum and Maximum Speed
• A – Accel Time 1 and Decel Time 1
• R – Reference Source
• T – Thermal Motor Overload
To run a S.M.A.R.T. start routine, follow the steps in this table:
Running an Assisted Startup
The assisted start-up routine prompts you to input required information. Access
assisted startup by selecting Start Up from the Main Menu.
To perform an assisted startup, follow the steps in this table:

1. Press ALT and then Esc (S.M.A.R.T). The S.M.A.R.T. start
screen appears.
2. View and change parameter values as desired. For HIM
information, see Appendix B.
3. Press Esc to exit the S.M.A.R.T. start.
This start-up routine requires an LCD HIM.

1. In the Main Menu, press the up arrow or down arrow to
scroll to Start Up.
2. Press Enter.
You must select Done/Exit after you complete the start-up routine for the
start-up/autotune data to be saved.
