REMOVING THE REAR
MUDGUARD
Carefully read p. 39 (MAINTENANCE).
◆ Position the vehicle on the centre stand,
see p. 38 (POSITIONING THE VEHICLE
ON THE STAND).
Before carrying out the following opera-
tions, let the engine and the silencer cool
down until they reach room temperature,
in order to avoid burns.
◆ Unscrew and remove the screw (1).
◆ Unscrew and remove the screw (2), tak-
ing the washer.
◆
Remove the filter casing air intake
strap and pull it off to gain access to screw
(2).
◆
Unscrew and remove screw (2).
Tightening torque for screws (1) and (2):
7 Nm (0.7 kgm)
REMOVING THE EXHAUST
SILENCER
Carefully read p. 39 (MAINTENANCE).
◆ Remove the rear mudguard, see beside
(REMOVING THE REAR MUDGUARD).
◆ Unscrew and remove the screw (8).
Screw (8) driving torque:
10 Nm (1.0 kgm).
◆ Unscrew and remove the nut (9).
Nut (9) driving torque:
10 Nm (1.0 kgm).
◆ Unscrew and remove the screw (10) that
fastens the silencer to the engine.
Screw (10) driving torque:
27 Nm (2.7 kgm).
◆ Remove the silencer.
NOTE Upon reassembly, change the ex-
haust manifold-silencer seal.
NOTE Upon reassembly, take care to po-
sition the bushing (3) correctly.
◆ Unscrew and remove the screw (4).
Screw (4) driving torque:
25 Nm (2.5 kgm).
NOTE Upon reassembly, take care to po-
sition the bushing (5) correctly.
◆ Unscrew and remove screw (6).
Tightening torque for screw (6):
27 Nm (2.7 kgm)
When removing and refitting the rear
mudguard, take care not to damage the
throttled body.
◆ Remove the rear mudguard (7).
