(9) Damage or corrosion on the gasket-contacting surface
Check the gasket-contacting surface of the valve and bonnet for damage or deterioration,
such as corrosion that will cause a leak. If a problem is found, repair, re-machine, or
replace the part.
CAUTION
Dispose of old parts that were replaced during valve disassembly or main-
tenance as industrial waste. If they are burned or discarded carelessly, envi-
ronmental pollution will result.
4-2. Removing the Control Valve
This section provides instructions for removing the control valve from the equipment for a
periodical inspection or other purposes.
Refer to the following instructions or cautions when removing the valve.
Handling Precautions
Allow enough space to work.
Check that removal of the valve will not affect the performance of the equipment.
Be sure to shut off the fluid in the piping and release the process pressure.
Check that the temperature near the control valve is safe.
Before removing the control valve from the equipment, remove all the bolts at pipe con-
nections to avoid applying excessive force.
Removing the control valve
(1) Removing wires
Shut off all signals and power from electric equipment that is connected to the control
valve, and remove the wires.
