Functions requiring a special display
The bold, underlining, and super/subscript functions work in the same way as
in printing mode, but have a special display. The following table shows how
these functions are displayed.
Function Display
Underlined character The character flashes, showing alternately the
normal character and the underlining,
Example: Pace = Page and ....
Bold character The character flashes, showing alternately the
normal character and an upper line.
Example: Page = Page and ....

Superscript The character in superscriptalternates with the
symbol (_). The shape of the cursor change
from r! to e.
Example: mc2 = mc2 and mc t#
Subscript The character in subscript is alternately dis-
played with the symbol (_). The shape of the
cursorchanges from D to r_.
Example: H20 = H20 and H--PC
Permanent hyphen Displayed with the symbol (H).

Permanent space Displayed with the symbol (_),
