Installation - Access Point
• Congure the DIR-890L with the computer that was last connected directly to your Internet connection. Verify that it is connected to the
Internet before connecting additional devices.
• If you are connecting a considerable amount of networking equipment, it may be a good idea to take the time to label each cable or take
a picture of your existing setup before making any changes.
• If you are using this device to extend the range of your existing wireless network, you may need to use trial and error to determine an
acceptable placement location.
Before you Begin
This section will walk you through the installation of the DIR-890L as an access point. The DIR-890L is congured by default to operate in Router
Mode. It is recommended to perform a hardware reset and disconnect it from your network before proceeding.
