Test the System Using a Local Network
You can set up a local network consisting of the system and a computer. This allows you to test
whether the system and computer can communicate using the IP address, and to test that the
system is functioning correctly. You might use this procedure if you set up multiple systems in a
central location before installing them at individual sites.
Connect the System to a Computer
1. Connect the system directly to a
Windows-based computer or
laptop using an Ethernet cable.
2. Plug one end of the Ethernet
cable into the top port on the
printer, and the other end into
your computer.
This procedure is optional.
