Chapter 11 – Motor Cavity
The following conditions require major repair:
Defective or shorted motor
Worn seal or bearings
Flooded motor
Major repairs must be performed in a shop equipped with the correct tools and clean facilities
for proper repair and testing. Any time a pump is rebuilt, all seals, O–rings, gaskets, bearings,
pump stator and pump liner should be replaced. Clean the core thoroughly before all major
repairs.

Core and Motor Disassembly
1. If working on a DR or DH model, remove the Top Housing as described in Chapter 8a.
2. Remove the Level Sensor as described in Chapter 9.
3. Remove the Control Housing and Controls as described in Chapter 10.
4. Remove the Anti-Siphon valve by removing the four bolts and lifting it off the discharge
elbow.
5. Disassemble the pump end as described in Chapter 6, but leave the rotor on.
