Before starting this procedure, be sure to read the
following:

Buttons that are used in the following settings

After confirming that the printer is ready, press
the # button.
The Maintenance menu will be displayed.

Use the u button to select Other maintenance,
and then press the Z button.
C
Use the u button to select Grease Carriage Rod,
and then press the Z button.
When Grease kit is needed. Continue? is
displayed. Make sure that you have a grease kit
ready to use.

Use the u button to select Yes, and then press the
Z button.

Insert the tab of the pad A (new) firmly into the
rectangular slot on the grease tool and fit the pad
to the tool as shown.
F
Open the front cover.
G
Hold the pad of the tool firmly against the back of
the carriage rod A, and then slide it smoothly
from the right end to the left end to wipe off stains
on the rod.
Repeat this action four times.
