Envelope Feeding Guidelines/Limitations:
• Envelope should be run using media type “heavyweight 2”, “face-up” selected.
• Envelopes should be run open flap to the left (trail edge) which provides the best wrinkle free results. It is not
recommended to run closed flap because it is more susceptible to wrinkles, creases, light image, and the flap
sealing during the run.
• North American envelopes will only run in Custom Size Mode with manually inputting the size indicated above.
These dimensions include a commercial style open flap (specific dimensions for the envelopes being used should
be entered, including flap size).
• Envelope Basis Weight must be between 75 to 90 GSM.
• Bypass tray can handle SEF stacks of 30 – 50 envelopes.
• Stacking capacity in SCT varies from approx. 30 to 100 envelopes.
• Frequent jams or damage may occur with certain size envelopes & flap designs.
• Image Quality may be compromised when running various flap & seam designs.
• Maximum reliable LEF / flap open exit tray stack height is less than 10 envelopes.
• Maximum reliable SEF stack height in SCT is 30 – 50 envelopes
• Other variables that can affect envelope feeding performance:
• Envelope brand, size, weight, and seam configuration.
• Flap design, size, and shape.
• Orientation of Flap in feed trays – Inboard or Outboard.
• Storage / environmental conditions, and age of envelopes.
• Output devices used.
