3. Place the level on top of the two mandrel tubes (Position
B). Do the following during the leveling:
a) Screw left front and rear feet (positions 1 and 3)
out to the floor to level the bubble.
b) Screw left front and rear feet (positions 1 and 3)
out one half turn to share of the weight of the
plotter.
4. Repeat step 2 with right front and rear feet (positions 4
and 6).
Place a bubble level on the center of the platen (position
A). Adjust the left front and rear feet (positions 1 and 3),
or the right front and rear feet (positions 4 and 6) to bring
the platen level. Do the following during the leveling:
a) Do not allow the left or right middle feet
(positions 2 or 5) to support the plotter
b) Keep the front and rear feet (positions 1, 3, 4
and 6) threaded in as much as possible. For
example, to level the platen, try to lower the
high side rather than raise the low side.
5. Check levelness on positions A, B, and C using a bubble
level.
Note: Changes made to one leveling foot will affect
the overall levelness of the plotter and will
require adjustment.
6. Screw the foot left center and right center feet (positions
2 and 5) out until they barely contact the floor. The
plotter is now leveled.
7. Verify that the mandrels are not bowed by placing the
level across each mandrel, one at a time. If the paper
supply or paper take-up mandrels are bowed, they must
be replaced.
Note: If the plotter is moved after being leveled, it
should be checked and leveled again, as
necessary.
