LDM Series Instruction Manual — P/N 15885:H3 8/12/2019 45
NCA Connections NFS2-3030 and NCA-2 (UL 9th), AM2020/AFP1010, NFS-3030, or NCA (UL 8th)
C.5 NCA Connections
Power The NCA does not provide an annunciator power output terminal. Power for the LDM should be drawn from the FACP’s main
power supply. Refer to the appropriate FACP appendix in this manual.
EIA-485
C.6 AM2020/AFP1010 Connections
Power Connect the power run for the LDMs to MPS-24A TB3, Terminals 1 (+) and 2 (-). Maximum current is 1 amp. The power run to
the LDMs need not contain a Power Supervision Relay since loss of power is inherently supervised.
EIA-485: AM2020/AFP1010 Hardware Required The AM2020/AFP1010 must include an intelligent Serial Interface Board (SIB-
2048A) or SIB-NET. The EIA-485 circuit must be connected to the SIB-2048A as illustrated below.
Figure C.1 The EIA-485 Loop
The SIB-2048A can support one EIA-485 circuit, capable of spanning 12,000 feet (3,600 m) @ 12 AWG (3.25 mm2), as illustrated
below, provided that the SIB-2048A is located in the center of the span illustrated below. A 120 ohm terminating resistor is required at
each end of the twisted pair.
R98 - ACS Bus Termination Resistor
Termination resistor built into board for NCA
installations at physical end of ACS Bus. If an
NCA is not installed at end of Bus, remove
resistor R98. Remove all AC and DC power
before cutting.
TB3 - EIA-485 ACS Mode Data connection
for ACS modules. Power limited and
unsupervised.
