Installation
INTRODUCTION
The
purpose
of
this
chapter
is
to
describe
how
the
analyzer
is
set
up
and
the
probe
cablesare
connected
for
measurements
in
a
system
under
test
.
The
self test
of
the
analyzer
and
messages
that
may
be
displayed
during
the
self-test
are
also
described
.
INITIAL
INSPECTION
To
avoid
hazardous
electrical
shock,
do
not
perform
electrical
tests
when
there
are
signs
of
shipping
damage
to
any
portion
of
the
outer
enclosures
of
the
instrument
(covers
and
panels)
.
Inspect
the
shipping
container
for
damage
.
If
the
shipping
container
or
cushioning
material
is
damaged,
it
should
be
kept
until
the
contents
of
the
shipment
havebeen
inspected
mechanically
and
electrically
.
If
the
contents
are
incomplete,
if
there
is
mechanical
damage
or defect, or
if
the
instrument
does
not
pass
the
self
test,
notify
your
nearest
Hewlett-Packard
Sales
and
Service
Office
.
If
the
shipping
container
is
damaged,
or
the
cushioning
materials
show
signs
of
stress,
notify
the
carrier
as
well
as
the
Hewlett-Packard
office
.
Keep
the
shipping
materials
for
inspection
by
the
carrier
.

LogicAnalyzer
requires
a
power
source
of either
115
or
230
Vac
-22%
to
+10%
;
single
phase,
48
to
66
Hz
;
275
watts
maximum
power
.
WARNING
Chapter

Installation
This
is
a
Safety
Class
I
product
(provided
with
a
protective
earth
terminal)
.
An
uninterruptible
safety
earth
groundmust
be
provided
from
the
main
power
source
to
the
product
input
wiring
terminals,
power
cord,
or
supplied
power
cord
set
.
Whenever
it
is
likely
that
the
protection
has
been
impaired,
the
instrument
must
be
made
inoperative
and
be
secured
against
any
unintended
operation
.
If
this
instrument
is
to
be
energized
via
an
autotransformer
for
voltage
reduction,
make
sure
the
common
terminal
is
connected
to
the
earthed
pole
of
the
power
source
.
