Installation
If
an
error
occurs
in
RAM
or
ROM,
the
self-test
is
discontinued
.
When
the
self-test
is
not
successful,
the
following
messages
may
appear
in
place
of
any
one
or
more
of
the
previous
messages
:

RESETTING
INTERNAL
STORAGE
When
an
error
is
detected
in
the
checksum
of
internal
storage
during
the
self-test,
the
analyzer
automatically
resets
internal
storage
.
While
resetting
internal
storage,
the
message
"WAIT
Resetting
internal
storage"
is
displayed
on-screen
.
If
the
reset
is
successful,
the
message
"Internal
storage
reset
successful"
is
displayed
on-
screen
.
If
the
reset
has
not
been
successful,
the
message
"Reset
failed,
internal
storage
has
failed"
is
displayed
.
To
manually
reset
internal
storage,
toggle
switch
1
of
the
HP-1113
address
switch
.
The
message
"WAIT
Resetting
internal
storage"
will
appear
on-screen
while
the
reset
is
taking
place
.
When
the
reset
has
beencompleted
successfully,
the
message
"Internal
storage
reset
successful"
is
displayed
.
If
the
reset
has
not
been
successful,
the
message
"Reset
failed,
internal
storage
has
failed"
is
displayed
on-screen
.
The
analyzer
may
be
used
without
the
internal
storage
and
the
performance
of
the
analyzer
is
not
affected
.
When
attempting
to
store
information
to
the
internal
storage
via
the
SYSTEM
[Peripherals]
menu,
the
analyzer
will
attempt
to
reset
internal
storage
and
the
message
"Internal
storage
failed
power-up"
will
be
displayed
.

8
for
more
information
about
internal
storage
and
the
SYSTEM
[Peripherals]
menu
.
Inverse
assemblers
may
not
be
loaded
to
the
analyzer
without
internal
storage
.
POWER
UP
DISPLAY
MESSAGES
When
the
analyzer
is
powered-up,
it
goes
through
a
sequence
of
power-up
routines
and
displays
messages
on
the
SYSTEM
[Configuration]
menu
.
The
same
power-up
routines
are
performed
after
the
self-test
when
the
Self-Test
switch
on
the
HP-1113
address
switch
has
been
returned
to "0"
(switch
lever
down)
.
NOTE
Reconnect
HP-IB
accessory
instruments
to rear
panel
HP-1113
port
before
setting
HP-1113
switch
6
to
"0"
.
During
the
power-up
routine,
the
analyzer
reads
the
HP-1113
port
and
automatically
assigns
addresses
to
any
accessories
that
may
be
connected
to
the
HP-1113
port
.
Addresses
are
assigned
so
duplication
of
addresses
does
not
take
place
.
Inverse
assemblers
and
storedconfigurationsare
automatically
re-loaded
in
the
power-
upsequence
unless
instructed
otherwise
in
the
SYSTEM
[Peripherals]
menu
.
The
inverse
assembler
is
loaded
first,
and
then
the
stored configurations
.
The
messages
"Inverse
assembler
loaded"
and
"Configuration
loaded"
will
be
displayed
in
the
lower
left
hand
corner
of
the
display
when
the
internal
storage
checksum
is
correct
.
If
on
power-up,
the
internal
storage
checksum
is
in
error,
the
message
"Internal
storage
corrupt"
is
diplayed
in
the
lower
left
hand
corner
of
the
display
.
The
analyzer
will
reset
the
internal
storage
and
display
"Internal
storage
reset
successful"
if it
was
able
to
reset
.
When
not
able
to
reset,
the
message
"Internal
storage
failure"
will
be
displayed
.
If
an
inverse
assembler
was
stored
it
will
be
lost
and
the
message
"Inverse
assembler
lost"
will
be
displayed
whether
the
internal
storage
failed
or
was
successfully
reset
.
