whether they are stored on a Windows or UNIX le server. To address this issue, Username
Mapping Server m aps the Windows and UNIX user na m es so that users can log on with either
their Windows or UNIX credentials and access resources regardless of whether they are stored
on a Windows or UNIX le server.
Server for NFS
Normally, a UNIX computer cannot access les on a Windows-based computer. A computer
running Windows Server 2003 R2 and Server for NFS, however, can act as a le server for
both Windows and UNIX computers.
Client for NFS
Normally, a Windows-based computer cannot a ccess les on a UNIX computer. A computer
running Windows Server 2003 R2 and Client for NFS, however, can access les stored on
a UNIX-based NFS server.
The Client for N FS feature of the Microsoft Services for NFS component is not preinstalled on the storage
server although information about this feature appears in the online help. To enable Client for NFS:
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs.
2. Select Add/Remove Windows Components > Ot h e r N etwork File and Print Services > M ic rosoft
Services for NFS > Details.
3. Install Client for NFS.

To access
Microsoft Services for Network File System from the Start menu:
1. Select Start > Programs > Administrative Tools .
2. Click Microsoft Services for Network File System. A screen similar to the following appears.

To access Microsoft Services for Network File System from the HP Storage Server Management console:
1. Access the HP Storage Server Management console by clicking on the shortcut icon on the desktop.
2. Intheleftpaneoftheconsole,selecttheShare Folder Management listing.
3. In the center pane, under Share Utilities,selectMicrosoft Services for NFS (see Figure 3 7).
