Fitting the carburettor
1
Make sure the carburettor outlet and the distance
piece flange are free from oil, grease, and
adhesive film (from the old gasket).

Connect the fuel hoses to the carburettor.

Hold the carburettor against the air filter holder and
push in the carburettor screws.

Place the gasket against the carburettor and over
the screws.

Hold the carburettor against the distance piece and
screw in position. See figure 57. Do not forget the
top screw!

Place the tank venting valve in its bracket.Connect
the throttle cable.

Function
The carburettor has the task of supplying a
combustible fuel/air mixture to the cylinder:
The amount of this mixture is controlled by the
throttle.
The mixture’s composition of fuel and air is
controlled by means of the adjustable “H” and
“L” needles.
The needles must be correctly adjusted in order
for the engine to give maximum power at different
speeds, run steadily while idling and to react
quickly when accelerating.
WARNING!
When testing the engine in con-
nection with carburettor adjust-
ment, the clutch and clutch co-
ver must be mounted together
with the shaft under all circum-
stances. Models equipped with
an angle gear must also have
the angle gear mounted.
Otherwise there is a risk of the
clutch becoming loose resulting
in serious personal injury.
